Bio

I’m Chris Zepeda better known as Chris the Barber from beautiful San Antonio Texas. I have had the honor and privilege of being a barber since 2004

I became a barber by chance. The barber that would cut me and my friend's pompadours announced his retirement. One of my friends suggested I become a barber so I can cut them up. It’s a decision I’m glad I made. I love what I do and can honestly say I don’t go to “work” every day, this has become my calling.

Being here in Texas, Rob from Robs Chop Shop in Dallas was an influence on me and I really thought what Donny Hawley out in California was doing was awesome. Add to that a water-based pomade like Layrite that he created was the icing on the cake of how cool this business was moving in the right direction.

Fortunately, I came up in the Rockabilly scene here in San Antonio and was able to build a reputation as the go-to guy around town to get the traditional haircuts. I can do a wide variety of cuts, but the pompadour has definitely become my specialty. Of course, any traditional old-school cut is nice because the classics never die.

Signature Style

One of my old bosses called me The Pompadour King and it stuck. I just wanted to provide traditional cuts to people that were looking for them. I’m glad I got to be known around my city as the go to guy for old school styles.
